Dear Andy James and Tessa Lee, I have been watching the Batchelor for some time, probably from the beginning; however, I have not written to any of the other couples before. I guess I wasn’t deeply touched by them. Their choices and decisions didn’t matter that much to me. I want you to know that your journey meant more than any other; I went on that journey with the two of you from the beginning to its end. We who care for you, Andy, are deeply moved that your heart didn’t lead you astray, and that your sweet adventure with Tessa Lee has not ended, but in truth is just beginning. We feel this is a girl who will stick by you come what may through the very best and worst of times at home or away. Believe me, as time passes, you will come to understand how truly meaningful that will be. We believe you are both sincere about wanting a happy future for each other. We honestly believe you were very wise to take Tessa and Bevin home to hear the loving and caring counsel about The Love that you could trust to grow with time. We agree wholeheartedly. We also feel you showed great wisdom in taking this matter to prayer. It is for that reason that I feel compelled to share a gift from my heart to yours. You see I’ve become fond of you over the last several weeks. I find myself wanting the very best for you as I would want for my son, Jaime, 10 years your senior, also a navy vet. This gift will help you have what you prayed for even sooner. This is my prayer that this very special gift will draw you closer to the Maker and Designer of marriage, our Creator, Jehovah God, for a three-fold cord is less likely to break. May these words, my gift and prayer for your everlasting happiness together draw you even closer to your Creator, his Word, and His will for you as you learn to love him as your real friend. The hearer of prayer and the giver of all good gifts, for He is the one who wants you to be truly happy together. As you learn how that happiness can last forever. It would be a wonderful thing, would it not, to share what you learn from God’s Word with Tessa so that she could embrace the hope that God gives with you. No greater gift could you share with her than that, for you would be offering her the gift of everlasting life and eternity with you, dear Andy. Is that not what you prayed for?
